Need I say more??

Hpim0093Hpim0092_1

But this time… one of the car got away as I got there…

Anyway, this time, I’ve decided to be a good citizen / biker and send these picts to the town council & HDB for them to whatever action that is required to let these drivers understand that those little lots are for bikes, not shrunken cars lots.

:D

Doin things behind the wheel… Steering wheel that is…

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XumLZhDznNA

If you think this is amazing / shocking… You wouldn’t believe some of the things that I saw on the road… Personally.

- Putting on make up… (I dun wanna sound sexist here but… come on………)
- Eating breakfast
- Talking on the phone with one hand… (No I am not done…..) and penning notes with another hand
- Holding a Calculator with one hand and punching numbers with another… (Is it that urgent???)
- Guy hugging his lady friend on the passenger seat while driving… (Trying to look cool??)
- Guy trying to be funny with his lady friend on the passenger seat while driving… (Get a room….)
- Girl puts her head on the male driver’s lap… (Dun ask me what they were doing… but the driver did not seem to be handling his vehicle very well…..)
etc etc……..

Drivers who are / may be reading this… juz remember… bikes have a much higher seating position / profile than a normal car. It doesn’t really take much effort to see what is going on in the car…

Maybe that’s why car’s tints are getting darker & darker.

Ten Commandments for cars

Need I say more??

———-

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Thou shall not drive under the influence of
alcohol. Thou shall respect speed limits. Thou shall not consider a car
an object of personal glorification or use it as a place of sin.

The Vatican took a break from strictly theological matters Tuesday
to issue its own rules of the road, a compendium of do’s and don’ts on
the moral aspects of driving and motoring.

A 36-page document called "Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the
Road" contains 10 Commandments covering everything from road rage,
respecting pedestrians, keeping a car in good shape and avoiding rude
gestures while behind the wheel.

"Cars tend to bring out the ‘primitive’ side of human beings, thereby producing rather unpleasant results," the document said.

It appealed to what it called the "noble tendencies" of the human
spirit, urging responsibility and self-control to prevent the
"psychological regression" often associated with driving.

The document’s Fifth Commandment reads: "Cars shall not be for you
an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin."

Asked at a news conference when a car became an occasion of sin,
Cardinal Renato Martino said "when a car is used as a place for sin."

One part of the document, under the section "Vanity and personal
glorification," will not go down well with owners of Ferraris in
motor-mad Italy.

"Cars particularly lend themselves to being used by their owners to
show off, and as a means for outshining other people and arousing a
feeling of envy," it said.

It urged readers not to behave in an "unsatisfactory and even barely
human manner" when driving and to avoid what it called "unbalanced
behavior … impoliteness, rude gestures, cursing, blasphemy …"

Praying while driving was encouraged.

Vatican City, the world’s smallest sovereign state, doesn’t have many of the problems listed in the document.

It has about 1,000 cars, the speed limit is 30 kph and one Vatican
official said the last accident inside Vatican City’s walls was about
1-1/2 years ago, resulting in minor damage.

How did they get their driving license??

Bus Stops… Traffic bottle necks??

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

I am not sure if anyone else noticed but some of the bus stops are put in IMHO, really strange strange locations. Some should be IMHO relocated to ease off traffic.

E.g. 1
The bus stop in front of Le Meridian. Where not too far away (about 50m or less), is a major turning into the CTE and most if not all the buses goes straight. And to make it worse, there are 2 lanes that turns left into the expressway and the buses need to squeeze "against" traffic to be able to move straight across the junction.

E.g. 2
The bus stop near Braddell & Carmichael Road. This bus stop is right after the entrance of the underpass. If you have been on that road, you’ll know what I mean. @ the entrance, there is only 1 lane filtering out of the underpass. And there are always cars who are turning right into AMK jammed packed there. You can imagine what happens when a bus stops there.

E.g. 3
It’s the opposite side of the road of e.g. 2.

Sometimes I wonder why are under passes built? To ease traffic? But then why these bottle necks? Are they unaware of it?

Why are there more and more of these 1 exit lanes that opens up into multiple lanes? *from the top view… it does look like a hour glass.
Example, the road right in front of Upper Serangoon Shopping Center.
*I really hate it when someone stops there to buy durians, or when a bus stops there… The traffic jam there is a nightmare.
funny thing is… the jam was never there before the building of the "flyover".

Who can we talk to for such issues? SBS? LTA? Sigh…

Are we building for the sake of building and not for the sake of improving road conditions?

*Dun even get me started on road markings…. The ones @ Paya Lebar are a nightmare!!!

More inconsiderate drivers…
